For outdoor enthusiasts!
There is so much to do and see in the Cairngorm National Park and around Aviemore in the Spey Valley that one stay will not be long enough! We’ve been visiting the area for 15 years and still discovering new places to walk or new activities to try out. Whether it be skiing, stunning walks around An Lochan Uaine – The Green Loch, Loch an Eilein, miles and miles of hill walking on the Cairngorms, mountain biking, pony trekking, quad biking around Rothiemurchus, water sports on Loch Morlich, ziplining at the Alvie Estate, golfing at the championship Spey Valley course or hours of wildlife watching out for the red squirrels, capercaillie, pine martens, wildcats, ospreys and golden eagles there is something for everyone!
For the kids, Landmark in Carrbridge is a great way to spend the day enjoying the water slides and the tree top adventure courses or a trip on the steam train to Boat of Garden for another day out.
There is a range of great outdoor shops in Aviemore including Tiso, Blacks, Nevis Sport and Ellis Brigham. Aviemore offers a wide range of dining including restaurants, pubs and takeaways to suit most tastes and diets. The Old Bridge Inn, The Balavoulin and Route 7 cafe are our firm favourites. Rothiemurchus Farm Shop has a large variety of local produce and is a must visit on your trip. Best advice is to book activities / restaurants in advance of your visit!
